I am in my second year as the Department Head and Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s B. I. Moody III College of Business Administration. Previously, I spent 15 years, including three, as the Department Chair at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.

My research is diverse, covering various topics from market efficiency and effectiveness as drivers of firm financial performance to technology use by marketing practitioners and managers. This diversity has been reflected in my publications in top academic research journals such as the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice.

I have also published in leading case journals, including Business Case Journal, Case Journal Research, and Ivey Publishing. My cases examine new product launches (Avanti Markets, Fidello cigar cutter) and resource allocation (Advantage Food & Beverage Sales Rep, Advantage Food & Beverage Vending).

I wrote a textbook, Brewing a Business, which Interpretive Simulations publishes as part of its BizCafe simulation title. The textbook is intended for Introduction to Business or First Year Seminar courses. Each chapter includes ethical dilemmas, a quiz bank, a slidedeck, and a video interview with a coffee store owner or expert.

Currently, I teach Introduction to Marketing Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Marketing Management, and Principles of Marketing. Previously, I taught Retail Management and Sales at the undergraduate level and Business Analytics and Marketing Strategy at the MBA level.

In 2023, I won the Distinguished Teach Award from the Society for Marketing Advances. I have been a finalist for the Marketing Management Association’s Master Teach Award and Master Scholar Award.

I strive to be an innovative teacher in the classroom, emphasizing experiential education. Experiences include a client, cases, role play, and simulation.

Currently, I serve as an at-large member of the Society of Marketing Advances’ Board of Governors. Previously, I served as President, Conference Organizer, and Treasurer. I also served as treasurer for the Ohio Program Evaluators’ Group.

I continue my role as a trainer and facilitator for the National Association of College Stores’ Leadership Institute. I assist with the development of early to mid-career retail professionals. I have delivered keynote addresses for retail trade groups and professionals on a variety of analytics topics. For four years, I conducted a one-day statistics workshop for practitioners.

I earned my PhD in Marketing from Texas Tech University, my master’s from the University of Iowa, and my bachelor’s from the University of Oklahoma.

I continue to work with companies on a variety of marketing-related issues. For example, I revised customer satisfaction surveys for Century Resources Fundraising. I performed an ROI and breakeven analysis for the Ohio Department of Health.
